How can I produce my own video at home? Really its not that hard if you keep in mind these few suggestions:
1) Proper lighting is key – set up outside, weather permitting and when there is little background noise. As you can see, I set up against my backdoor away from street noise. A cloudy day is ideal for great diffused lighting
2) A solid backdrop can be attained by draping a sheet (green is the best to allow our video editor to superimpose a custom background over it later).
3) use a ladder or other tall but secure object to support your cell phone close to eye level and near you for capturing your face and recording your voice. (if not possible, get a friend to hold it for you)
4) Wear your company smock or shirt and remember you are the first impression and the face of our company
5) Write out and practice what you want to say while timing it to keep it within 30 – 60 seconds
6) Remember to have FUN; these videos should inspire, not bore your audience
7) After you watch it and are satisfied with results, send it by text (or even better attach to an email) and send to our Video expert who will review it and offer suggestions for improving before sending to me for final approval.
Finally, don’t be discouraged if your first few attempts need to be retaken. You will receive coaching on how to make it better and learn from each attempt. After a short time, you too will see how easy it is to be an expert video producer with confidence!
